Ecstatic Landscapes of the Isle of Skye

Today, we would like to unveil the beauty of one of the most ecstatic places we have travelled to - the Isle of Skye. It is the largest and northernmost of the major islands in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland.
As Steemit has become our main channel of distribution for our films, we would like to share more of our past as filmmakers and travellers. Soon we will start posting a documentary series of the finest broadcast quality about travelling to the Balkans. The reason why we choose Steemit as our main platform is simple: here we feel like we can retain the rights over the authorship and ownership of our work, whereas if we sell it to TV channels, we would lose all our rights and let someone else profit from it. Furthermore, we could tell stories the way we want it, with no conventions and no limitations, neither in the length nor in the content. Stay with us and we will take you on the road for a roller coster of emotions!
The Isle of Skye is a mesmerising place, where sheep are by far outnumbering humans, high cliffs are diving into the oceans and waves and bleating are the only sounds to be heard.
Our dear friend Siyu Wang aka 'Alex' was travelling with us and he agreed to be our photography mentor when we decided that we could not come back without a little visual memory of that trip.
Here is a bunch of the photos we took. It was three years ago. By looking at them, we could still breath the sea breeze and feel the peaceful embrace of this land.
No wonder if many poems were dedicated to this island. This is a passage of 'Prince Charlie At Versailles' by W.E. Aytoun:
To the noble northern land:
Let me feel the breezes blowing
Fresh along the mountain-side;
Let me see the purple heather,
Let me hear the thundering tide,
Be it hoarse as Corrievreckan
Spouting when the storm is high
Give me but one hour of Scotland
Let me see it ere I die!
Oh, my heart is sick and heavy
Southern gales are not for me;
Though the glens are white with winter,
Place me there, and set me free;...
And just so you know, if you ever go there, don't forget to have some oysters, muscles and shrimps!
It looks beautiful indeed :)
