No matter what your body goals in life are from losing or gaining weight to just maintaining what you already have, AN ACTIVE LIFESTYLE IS ESSENTIAL. This could be anything from skipping to walking to picking up a sport to even (most complete) workout sessions made of up of cardio and strength training.
Benefits of an active lifestyle; improved muscle and bone health (which becomes more and more useful as we age), you are in better shape, you will experience improved mental health, prevent and better control risk factors for heart disease, improved sleep and quite honestly it helps you feel better about yourself because some physical activity is always better than none.
There are NO SHORTCUTS, rapid weightloss through teas or pills or drinks or even diet without exercise will lead to an appearance or body form which can best be described as "SOFT", this is because with this form of weight loss you will be losing both muscle and fat, whereas, if the same individual were exercising it will give the muscles a chance to tone up which will help the body maintain its form and give the body a firmer appearance.
Also the Increased Basal Metabolic Rate due to you working out (either doing high intensity intervals or lifting weights) as part of your workout increases the amount of calories your body burns up to 39 hours after you workout even when you are at rest opposed to if you didn't workout
