Why Steemit DTube will be YouTube Killer?
Can DTube disrupt the monopoly of YouTube or will it be another failed experiment that can’t take the fight to the mighty YouTube?
YouTube is undoubtedly still the number one video platform out there; however it is fraught with limitations especially censoring information flow and its recent strategy of demonetizing people -if its staffs disagree with your view point. The good news, however, is the decentralized video platform: DTube created by @heimindanger which operates on steem blockchain. Some points to note:
- Ability to earn more: In order to earn good on Youtube, you need millions of views. On the other hand, you can earn even as a new comer in Dtube because the videos runs in steemit with its great communities and people willing to upvote your video if the quality is great. Moreover, onlike Youtube , you do not need to promote your Dtube video in order to earn good. I am therefore , sure that many content creators on Youtube will join Dtube if they are aware of it.
- Advertisement Vs Original Contents: Youtube is focused on advertising money for their revenue and thus focus more on advertisers unlike Dtube which focuses on great contents-this principle, makes Dtube more pro consumers.
- Decentralized Platform: unlike Youtube which is fraught with censorship, DTube is a decentralized video platform that allows content creators his/her right to upload great contents in the steem blockchain -just as steemit is the best platform for bloggers, Dtube will certainly be the best platform for Video content creators without fear of censorship.
Moreover, another great part about Dtube, is that due to its censorship resistant, it avoid the copyright abuse by companies that has been going on for years on YouTube. One example is that, despite using footage and screenshots of Gameboy products under completely legal fair use, Gameboy can pull down your video without hesitation if you are not a Gameboy affiliate. This type of censorship by firms and advertisers themselves is another main reason why people will move away from YouTube to Dtube however it will take time.
Conclusion: YouTube will certainly hold its monopoly for now however in few years’ time we all will see its market share erode due to the future growth of steemit- which will positively affect DTube concomitantly with many members in need of a decentralized video platform where they can earn good money uploading great videos. Conversely, it is true that DTube is currently in its infancy; however I am sure that its future will be very bright…certainly, with our help.

Hey, thnx buddy @charles1 for sharing some informative posts. I m a bit hesitant to work on Dtube as I'm not a video content creator. In that case, how am I going to be benefitted? In Steemit, I can write blogs on different topics. Even though I'm not aware of particular topic, I'll learn, study and share my thoughts on it. But Dtube is completely a video sharing platform like youtube. Please help
I do not upload there because I write only blog post..so Dtube is great for videos as Steemit is great for bloggers ...
Maybe you will have videos to share one day and you can use it isnt it?

Thank you. Actually my first steemit post was on DTube :) I was very exited about this. I think if it's an old post people can't support it anymore, but i'm new here so i'm not sure...
