Don't let the Lye scare you. It is definitely not something to take lightly - but its not as scary as everyone makes it out to be. I have been making cold process soap for 3 years now. LOL I remember how nervous I was the first time handling the lye though. So long as you wear gloves and have eye protection there is nothing to really worry about. I hope you will be able to find someone to teach you the joy of making hot or cold process soap. It really is an amazing craft to learn.
