I was at Buffalo Wild Wings for this fight in Newark, DE. I have to say Miguel Cotto is my top favorite fighter, even when he loses he fights his heart out and his genuine loses have been against the best ie. Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather...Margarito cheated obviously so I don't count that, the Trout fight...well, Cotto lost that one altho I would say if he'd been with Freddie Roach at the time I doubt he would have lost...The Avarez fight was very close for me and once again the judges screwed that one up bad. Maybe a close decision for Canelo but not the wide score that was given...and his final fight against Saddam Ali IMO Cotto wasn't even there as himself...who knows maybe he didn't train...maybe he overtrained...maybe he was just 37 and age really caught up with him plus all the wild wars he'd been in but that fight wasn't Cotto...that wasn't Cotto in there...That wasn't the Miguel Cotto who destroyed Martinez, knocked out Zab Judah, out-boxed Shane Mosley, stopped Margarito in their rematch, broke Paulie Malignaggi's face, gave Mayweather what he said was his toughest fight....anyway, Miguel Cotto...one of the best of his generation and never made excuses!
