HOW TO PREPARE AFANG SOUP(ONE OF NIGERIA'S BESTDELICACIES)
A tutorial on how to prepare Afang soup, a sumptuous meal popularly known to Nigerians but originates from the southern part of Nigeria mostly( by Ibibio Efik and Anang speaking people.
There really is no hard and fast rules to preparing this dish,all that is requied is to ensure that,the water leaf and the afang leaf which are the major ingridients are available. Otherwise you probably will be do something else that's away from Afang soup and you don't want that.
There are several ways of preparing this dish,one of the ways was what I used. This is solely by chioce and on individual differences too.
Someone else could dicided to start his cooking by first boiling the water leaf and any other thing. You just feel free and do your thing.
INGREDIENTS
Water leaf also known asTalinum Triangulare. also known asTalinum Triangulare.
Afang leaf or Wide Spinach or Wide Spinach
Meat
Smoked fish
3/4 table spoon Chilli
1 cupPalm oil (plenty of this)
Seasoning
1/2 table spoon Salt
Cray fish
1 bulb Onion
INSTRUCTION
Wash,season(onion,salt chilli and seasoning)and steam meat until soft. While that is steaming, thoroughly wash the water leaves very well and chop.
Grind the Afang leaf.
Next add yourPeriwinkles allow to steam for a while, then add the smoked fish,chilli,salt,cray fish and palm oil,all this to boil togather for about 2mins.
Add the water leaves,stir proberly and the afang leaf and more palm oil into it ,stir again and allow it to boil for 2 mins and whala, the Afang soup is ready.
