Shame on these people. The second amendment is an essential safeguard of our freedom. People have the right and the duty to defend themselves, their families and neighbors from both tyranny and violent criminals. Taking away gun rights simply leaves law abiding citizens defenseless while criminals remain just as dangerous as before. The only difference is that the people can no longer protect their freedoms. The demonization of rifles is also due to an attack by the media. The vast majority of gun deaths are not from semi automatic rifles, but from handguns in urban areas.
