I guess not. I'll set them straight! I should mention he records all his stuff in his shed!

Isn’t that how we all do it

Let me say that if metal doesn't interest you lyrically, you just haven't heard the right tracks. Check this out. These guys make me feel like a teenager again.

In comparison no heavy metal song writer could lyrically compete with a hip hop artist.

That's a very subjective statement presented in absolute terms. Personally, I don't think of it in terms of "better" or "worse." It's two different art forms. Music is a language in and of itself. A piece of traditionally orchestrated music can be complete with no lyrics at all. Likewise, complete songs exist with only vocals and no accompaniment (vocal choirs and a cappella). In a traditional song, the melody is what takes us on the journey. Any lyrics or vocal lines must fit with the melody. Traditional music can also exist as a complete work without percussion. Hip hop (rap especially) is unique in that it is the words that are the journey. The beat and mix exist to embellish what is being said. The mix and the rap can't exist as a complete work without the other. Also, in hip hop, the beat is a necessity, melody is not. So to say that rock or metal artists can never compete lyrically with a rapper is like comparing apples and oranges. If I wanted to win a fight I'd simply reply that no rapper can measure up musically to a metal musician. That would be an equally subjective statement that misses the point that you can't judge a sculptor by how well he paints!

Im speaking on lyrical content.. and lyrical content alone. Musically a rapper can not compete with someone who plays like a boss. I like lyrics... and I like music... but I prefer lyrics to engage my mind... I listen to classical when Im trying to zone out... and independent music while I'm working. Hip Hop artists...are better lyric writers.... and all other musicians are by far better musicians.!

I hear you. So if I were arguing with you that metal lyrics are superior to rap, who would you show me to rebut my statement?

I'm asking who would you recomend that I listen to?

Black Thought... The man that fronts The Roots. Lupe Fiasco... Mos Def... are great lyricists. My favorites currently are Vinnie Paz... Mad Child... and Immortal Technique... I’m not normally that angry but life’s

How would you rate those guys compared to Hopsin or Rittz??
