Je me recommande, by Gilles Binchois
Here is another secular song by Renaissance composer Gilles Binchois (1400-1460), a *rondeau* for three voices, which I've transcribed for a trio of Recorders: Soprano, Alto, and Tenor, plus optional sopranino and added percussion parts. Next, I transcribed the three vocal lines to Sibelius (music notation software), and decided to add an introduction, repeat structure, and a final "stinger" measure to puncuate the ending.
The miscellaneous percussion tracks were inspired by a performance of the song by the Ensemble Gilles Binchois, recorded in 2000 (See link below), though I've added a few of my own subtle changes.
Finally, I exported audio tracks from Sibelius to Audacity, for EQ, a bit of delay (reverberation) and normalization, and in turn exported as mp3 and wav files.
I produced 2 versons: 1) complete performance with all parts, and 2) music minus one soprano recorder. The latter version affords me the opportunity to practice playing the soprano part, along with the other accompanying parts!
The composer Gilles Binchois' song "Je me recommande" is in Public Domain, but the arrangement for recorders and other miscellaneous instruments, is my own. Feel free to share the track; as long as you credit both composer and myself.
