Quiet Afternoon (Spitfire Labs)
This is a little piece I threw together with Spitfire Audio's discounted Labs Closing Down pack, just to put it through its paces and see where it led. I ended up with this rough-around-the-edges piece. The main riff starts off on a sampled charango, and moves through a couple of different instruments.
I don't know that there's a whole lot to say about the piece in terms of why I made the decisions I did, other than that the virtual instruments felt like they lent themselves more to a reflective, quiet piece than anything aggressive. The feeling I intended to capture was a group of moderate musicians enjoying themselves on a humid august afternoon, and not worrying about much.
Spitfire Labs is currently shut down, but if you're interested in finding some interesting, high-quality/low-cost virtual instruments, it's worth checking back for when they open back up.
Happy Easter!
