#11 Ben Joakim - The Future of Aid Finance

in #dsound6 years ago

"The existing global financial system wasn't built to serve the aid sector" says Ben, founder and CEO of [Disberse](disberse.com). Fraud and corruption represent a significant vaccume in the charity investment pool, due to it's slow, opaque and expensive system. The lack of transparency is almost taken for granted when entering the financial realm.

Disberse is a fund management platform providing an alternative transfer and traceable delivery system for the aid finance. Connecting donors to beneficiaries, via the ETH API, settles the argument for transparency and ensures project receive the intended resources.

Although "Greater transparency can lead to greater accountability", as Ben says, the FX (foreign exchange) presents a big challenge for the sector. Despite the base principal of cryptocurrency, bypass the sluggish government and banking infrastructure, it's application and integration with the current financial system is still very limited. Hence why Ben has decided, for the time being, to adopt fiat e-money as its tradable gateway.
