#8 Danny Brewster - The Unregulated Consumer

in #dsound7 years ago (edited)

The inevitable question about Neo & Bee was sprung by Nick, who was hoping to validate some of his theories about "them".

Danny's intent is set on educating people and creating a user-friendly infrastructure to make crypto more accessible and mainstream for all. He recognizes the flaws in Bitcoin but also recognises that most of the best coders in the world are working on this project. One of the main concerns with Bitcoin is its inability to sustain the current economic system due to its deflationary standard. In order to have progression, an inflationary currency is needed to keep up with the demand for labor.

Unexpectedly, Danny takes a philosophical view on deflation mentioning how a system based on abundant goods but scarce distribution of value would help us make better choices in life, and how that would help us become better people as we will care more for the world around us.

Despite the hype around regulation and the negative experience from his past business Danny showed very little concern about it, stating: "Nobody can tell you what to do with Bitcoin". As a node, you decide whether or not you agree to run a certain code or not. Bitcoin is self-regulating, and therefore regulation from outside cannot change the inherent code written rules of the network. It can only slow down the pace of mass adoption, but it cannot stop it. Not until people believe in it, maintain it, and trade it.
