Why It is important for me to support supporters like DSound, DTube or Minnowbooster! Before yesterday I was the third biggest delegator for DSound!
Where should I start?
I am a little bit over a month on Steemit and my account has an
estimated account value of a little bit over 2000 US Dollar and I think that is really awesome.
If you check my wallet you see that the most of my voting power is delegated.
Where?
If you see accounts with a minus underneath the Steempower like my that means delegating steem power to others.
Account with a big plus are the ones with the steem power.
An upvote from these users generate you the bigger payouts.
Yesterday, @prc (the founder of @Dsound) published a new exciting update about DSound and I was so surprised to see my name as the third biggest supporter.
I was so surprised because I am not a big account but I give back what I can to help the DSound community.
From each payout that I get, I invest at least 5 SP back to DSound alone every day.
After reading few more comments on his latest post I realized that many of you guys don't know about delegation, how it works or how to do it.
I explained it and immediately other people jumped on the delegation train and supported DSound.
Incredible!!!
Why should you delegate Steem Power?
The understanding of delegation is very simple. First, you help and support your own community, the Steemit blockchain and of course yourself.
How?
The more Steem Power an account like @DSound, @DTube, @DLive or maybe a recipe or photography contest account has, the more powerful is the upvote.
That means you get a higher payout if these accounts vote on your post and you can reinvest these SBD back into the community or you put it into your saving accounts, cash it out or trade with it.
I use all these options if you check my wallet.
Now I would love to talk about thinking the long run here on Steemit.
Another big part of my delegation goes to @reggaemuffin and the @buildteam account called @Minnowbooster!
I also delegate my Steempower to accounts like
@Jerrybanfield! (daily payout)
@utopian-io (weekly payout)
Minnowbooster has an amazing program where you can lease your Steempower to other smaller or bigger accounts.
You act like a bank but with way better interests and daily payouts in Steem.
How it works please check out @techblogger latest post Minnowbooster Explained!
I got inspired by the account @coinfund and I use the same instruments but just on a way smaller scale.
He has around 70 marketplace delegation right now with a daily payout of 70 STEEM!
This is over 200 US Dollar per day.
As I said I am just a small account on Steemit but still, I try delegating every day to all these accounts.
How much I make right now!
Let's count my daily payouts in US Dollar per day and per month and lets say I wouldn't invest in the next days and by using the daily currency course for today.
1 SBD - 3.74 USD
1 Steem - 3.48 USD
daily SBD - 0.205 - 0.7447 USD
monthly SBD - 6.15 - 23.001 USD
daily STEEM - 0.1 - 0.374 USD
monthly STEEM - 3 - 10.44 USD
If you look at the daily numbers you maybe think it's not much but if you count this up to one month I think 33 US Dollars is a lot of money already and who knows where it can go if I continue doing this every day!
Steemit gives you unbelievable possibilities and you can make great connections with real people so dont miss on that opportunity.
For me, as a world traveler who provides free high quality sounds to the sound community is it a wonderful way to make a little bit of extra money but more important to me is to support an idea or a movement that can change the world.
Now it is up to you if you want to support your supporters or not and keep in mind that behind each bot is a real person or a programmer and they always remember.
You want delegate? I show you how!
To delegate Steem Power you can use an amazing tool by @yabapmatt called
Steembottracker!
I give you a photo tour!
If you jump on the website you see in the upper corner "tools"!
Click "tools" and now you see "Delegation Manager"!
Now you type in your Steemit Account name in the "Delegator" field
in the next field, you type in the name of the "Delegate" I choose DSound and how much you want to delegate!
Now you confirm with Steem Connect! (make sure that you doublecheck the correct account!
Congratulations you just helped the community!
Maybe someday you don't want to delegate anymore and you want your Steempower back.
All that you need to do is you follow the same steps but you type in "0" and after one week you have your Steempower back!
Thank you for reading this article and I hope it helps you to understand a little bit more about Steemit! Please let me know if you have any questions!
Greeting from Bali!
Marcel
thank you, i've delegate some of my sp, hope dsound remain successful and successful, and hopefully dsound follow me @yahqan .. tq.
Thanks for the information I’m going to start delegateing some of my steempower also.
That is awesome Thomas! And If you time listen to the podcast from @petrajordan with @prc, he talked about how important it is if we "smaller" accounts supporting us each other. If 10K of us delegate 100 SP we don't need the big whales anymore. :)
Really helpful article, thank you. I was reading PRC's article about this yesterday too. I'd like to delegate too but was under the impression that you should leave at least 50 SP in your account undelegated (I got this from the Minnow Support message) Is that not the case? Thanks.
Hi Gjart Thank you for taking the time reading my post! I just do what feels right to me and share these experience. What are they saying about the 50SP and why? Is it because of the Bandwith or the own voting power?
I if you want to keep the 50 then you can just delegate what is above?
Unfortunately all they say is "Be sure to leave at least 50SP undelegated on your account." I have a little bit over this now, so will use that :-)
Yeah I think that is a great idea!
Great article. I'm definitely going to get involved in this. I've been trying to work out the perfect way to support the initiatives on this platform that I really believe in. This seems like the perfect way.
Thank you so much for reading an helping each other!! That is the way to go :)
I had the same reaction of surprise when I saw myself there on DSounds top delegator list. Simply means we have work to do as far as endorsing the platform goes (which we already do)!
Great post, always glad to read about the successes occurring on these platforms.
By the way @freetousesounds - I was checking to make sure my updated delegation to DSound went through, and I noticed you're delegating much less now (only 3 SP). If this was intentional, don't mind this - not at all trying to be patronizing - just thought maybe you adjusted and miscalc'd the delegation or something. Just thought I'd let you know in case that was a mistake!
Hi Harrison! Oh yeah, I see you :)! I really hope this article opens some eyes and people are motivated to invest more into Steemit! We never know where Steemit or the Steem Dollar will be in a year but I love to be on board.
I have delegated my Sp, because read this paper .. tq
Oh no!!! I am so stupid!!! Because I made this photo as an example! I typed in 3 and powered it down to 3!!! I hope I can fix this!
EDIT: Oh men! Now I have to wait one week to power up the full amount again! :(
Haha it happens dude, I've done it too 😂. Just thought I'd let ya know!
Yeah, I feel so stupid writing this long article for hours and then this. 6 more days and the power is back to DSound! Greetings from Bali!
Still trying to wrap my head around this. @freetousesounds if you take a look at my wallet would it be beneficial for me?
Hi! I can only speak from my experience and I started delegating very early but I had at least 100 SD in my Account and I post daily and have a daily income that I can share.
Understood. Ill get there ;) Thanks for the info.
Of course you will :) I wish you all the success you deserve!!
Thanks bro I had no idea how it worked! But does it mean I will not have the same curation power ? Cause i wanna really push new artists too, but it seems delegating might be a better way. Thanks for the info Marcel
Hi Ed!! I am happy it could help you and yes my own voting power is still super low because of my delegation. I rather delegate to DSound what has a bigger impact.
thanks for the clarification !
Very interesting post, I'm also interested in DSound, but just struggle to post music on their platform. It's like uploads don't work... But any ways I'll find out a way to get my music there!
What is the problem? You just click the upload button, give them a title, use the tags and a profile picture.
If you low on bandwidth than it might dont work
I want to delegate everything I have, if I am followed by @dsound ... I would love to do it.
thanks for clearing some of this up @freetousesounds !
I have been hearing about delegation, but haven't looked how to get in to it.. so, much appreciated!!
All The Love for your Amazing High Quality Sounds as well
Thank you so much @treaport and feel free to use all these sounds if you need! I just got such a wonderful message on Reddit. Somebody is working on a production about TET in Chicago and the sounds that I recorded in Vietnam are just perfect for background noise. That is the reason why I do this and that keeps me going. :)
