RE: Negative Aspects Of Social Media - Open The Box Podcast #1

in #dsound6 years ago

Hey @luppers! Thanks for stopping by to listen to my podcast last week. I wanted to return the favor, so I took a listen to this week's episode.

I think you've touched on some sensitive issues that we all face when we use social media. I just wanted to say that social media has been an excellent tool for promoting my podcast, which falls under the commercial uses you mentioned.

At the same time, you're right about the consequences of the negative aspects. We're all seeking validation from others, but one thing I've learned is that if you find a local support group (friends, coworkers, etc.), you can share experiences with those people that you don't feel like you have to share with everyone on social media.

Anyhow, I think you've got a good idea for a podcast show. I think if you took the time to make an intro featuring some music and a standard intro, it would take it to the next level!

Thankfully, I discovered the fantastic website freemusicarchive.org, which has a ton of tracks that are available for use under Creative Commons Licenses, even commercially! Check them out, and let me know if you need any help! I'm happy to provide any of my knowledge!

You are welcome, it was a good listen. Yes, there is a subtle but powerful difference between using social media for a personal account and then also for a business account! Yes, it is important to share vulnerbale topics with friends and family as they can help you, posting them on social media may not always be the most healthy. People do still admire authenticity.

I am speaking to a friend at the minute @beaupeep and he is looking into creating some intro/outro music for me.

Where do you edit your podcasts?

Thank you for the support, I will be in touch!!

Thank you for the kind words! Please feel free to share your thoughts on my posts again in the future, I am eager to hear what you have to say and will also give you another generous upvote!

Upvoted 100%!!

I'm glad you've reached out to a fellow Steemian about some music for your show. That's even better!

I edit my podcasts entirely in Audacity. I've heard that many people use Hindenberg or Adobe Audition, but I find that Audacity has everything you could possibly need to get a good edit, plus I'm a big fan of open-source software, so I will continue to use it in the foreseeable future.

I do run my final edit through iZotope Ozone Elements, which is a mastering plugin that I grabbed during one of their holiday sales for $29. It has made a huge difference in the final quality of the show in the new season.

Thanks so much for the vote! I wanted to let you know that I've just shared a new episode of Life, Experienced over on my blog, and I also have entered a podcast competition, which I encourage you to enter also! If you could go vote for my entry, that would be great also!

I'll do my best to stay on top of things with your show, and I hope you'll let me know if you have any other questions. I'm happy to help!
