Today's song, Festín Marino (Marine Festin); Venezuelan traditional-popular music

in #dsound6 years ago

It is a pleasure for me to refer to today's song in this musical field; Festín Marino (Marine Festin) by Rafael Salazar. It is a Joropo Oriental Sucrense (JOSU) sung by María Rodríguez (1924 - 2014) La Voz de Cumaná or as others also know it, the Sirena de Cumaná. This joropo was recorded in the city of Caracas in 1994 and is part of the Musical Album María por siempre. The musical production was made by Rafael Salazar himself and the execution of the Mandolin, the Arrangements and the Musical Direction were in charge of those who write these lines, Estelio Padilla.

At Festín Marino you can appreciate the powerful contralto voice that this popular Venezuelan singer had, whose artistic legacy represents an icon of the identity of the sucrense cultural being manifested in musical themes such as "The Tobacco Oration". Festín Marino was composed by Rafael Salazar who is a musicologist and researcher of our musical roots and at the same time a prolific author of many songs that have been recorded by other Venezuelan artists.

Next, I present a detailed description of the categories that characterize this musical theme and the details that accounted for the completion of the work.

Marine feast

I
At the dawn of dawn
The sunshade sleeps warm,
The sailors singing
Cheerful for the day.

II
And in the blue green of the water
Seagulls in flocks
For the fishing party,
Of laughter adorned

Chorus
Early voices,
Dream of the beach;
Foam of time,
Port of my years. (Bis)

III
The flashes are gigantic
With the light of the morning,
And a lonely star
He announces his withdrawal.

IV
And between voices the sailboats
They are playing with the wind,
Melodies of wishes;
The soul of old dreams.

Chorus
Early voices,
Dream of the beach;
Foam of time,
Port of my years. (Bis)

V
The foam goes with the day
Inviting walkers
At the fair of colors
From fish to the radiant sun.

VI
And brackish women
Of sea and full salts
They cover their gangs of glory
Support of new voices.

Chorus
Early voices,
Dream of the beach;
Foam of time,
Port of my years (bis)

VII
The sailors say goodbye,
The dealers, the t-shirts
And the bright coast
Celebrate your entire light

VIII
And the morning songs
They are erasing the task
With the rest breeze
That he longs for serene peace.

Chorus
Early voices,
Dream of the beach;
Foam of time,
Port of my years. (Bis)
