My Drums Post Tune Bot And Final Tune

in #drums5 years ago

I have received my Tune-Bot in the mail and had some time to play with it and try 2 different tuning types. Let me know what you think. Sorry about the messy room. I just got back from a trip and didn't unpack properly and I've been changing a lot of things up in my music room as well.

Final Settings:
Tom Size Octave Note Fundamental Batter Pitch Reso Pitch
16 2 C# 69 130 109
12 2 F# 92 173 146
10 2 B 123 232 195

Snare was around 320 top and 380 bottom.
Kick was something around 48 beater head and 62 reso.

If you really want exact numbers for snare and kick then please let me know.

I am a guitar guy so I found this interesting. I liked the lower final tuning. It has a sort of cool sound that I dont know how to describe it...but I like it. How often to they tune drums and is it something that all or most drummers do.

Most drummers can tune up by ear and get it really close to perfect. I have a lot harder time now that I'm getting older. The drums hold tune really well for a while but sometimes need a little adjustment due to temperature changes and general wear. And it depends on the drum set. Once I get a good tuning that I like then it should not need tuned for awhile.
