DRUGS AND BEHAVIOUR

We live in a society that is conditions by hardship, stress, frustration, conflicts , war and political crisis to the use of these substances called drugs just to modify the functions the actions of an individual.Drugs generally has the ability to to produce dramatic changes in the behavior of the user.It is a chemical substance that affect the structure and functioning of the body when taking . Drugs is therefore any chemical that can alter our bodily or mental functioning in the process of inhaling, ingesting,or absorbing.Drugs are normally prescribed for the following reasons. (1) treatment and prevention of illnesses and infections(2) relief of anxieties, depression and sleeplessness (3) Relief of pains and discomfort Generally , the intake of these drugs definitely alters the body mood and functioning.In order words all mood and behavior altering substances are drugs.While some drugs are naturally processed , some are synthesized eg of drugs are alcohol,cannabis,indian helps,nicotine such as snuff, kola nut, and cocaine, cigarettes, paracetamol,chloroquine, vitamin c, procold, decofenac, ampiclox, indocid,etc. all these changes our behaviour when taken.On this note we ought to know that some of these drugs are harmful to our health due to the abuse such as heroin or cocain and some other drugs poses serious damages not only to the individuals but to the society at large. We ought have to be careful in taking drugs from non authorized identity such as the amateur pharmaceutical shops popularly known as quacks. We should also not try to engage ourselves in taking the so called cannabis, heroin, Indian hemp which we popularly call "igboo" knowing full well that all of them changees our behaviour from whom we are to someone else . Our youths today have formed the habit of taking these drugs as a result of youthful exuberance in order to be feared .,Moreso some of them I this act have joined the worst group, such as harlotry, armed robbery, kidnappers etc simply because their behaviour is now controlled by the drugs while some of them ends up psychiatric hospital which at the end of the day might not come back to their normal self again..We should all be wise and not to abuse drugs. A drug abusers are always liabilities to their employers and co- workers in terms of absenteeism to work, gross mistakes and industrial accident. It leads to higher risk of injuries and deaths , domestic violence, health problems.Summarily, drugs changes our behaviour and attitude when taking and without proper prescription . Let us be conscious of our self and our behaviours.
