Selling Sentiment: A mural painting
This mural was painted in remembrance of the Gerlach-Barklow printing company that used to exist in Joliet Illinois. It was a leading employer in Joliet from 1907 until the time it closed in 1971, and one of the largest calendar and advertising companies of its time.
Painted in acrylic on board, the mural was placed on a wall facing the site where the building existed before it was destroyed. 10' high x 36' wide

Many thanks @c-squared!
This is absolutely wonderful. A fitting tribute. Love this one, @kathleenscarboro!
Thank you @manouche. I remember walking past the old building every day when I was in high school. So many of these majestic old buildings were destroyed and replaced by insignificant structures. May beautiful architecture return!
It's a very wonderful painting really done my dear
Thank you kindly, @roselover.
Looks like the artist was quite dedicated and immersed in his work.
The detailing displays it all.
Thank you.

I'm a bot. I detect haiku.
You are reading it wrong. "Selling Sentiment" was the term the Gerlach Barklow company used in selling their products (greeting cards and calendars).
what's missing is a shot of the present installation site - curious what that looks like (if you have it?!)
I had one long ago, but don't know what became of it.
What an amazing tribute to a sadly dying way of life in the USA.
Your joy and movement in your work is certainly a fitting tribute to that hardworking past.
