Amazon Primes new drone delivery infrastructure
In 2013, Amazon unveiled plans for that new kind of package delivery service. The new service will called Prime Air! Now Amazon submitted patent for "beehive" like towers that would serve as multi-level fulfillment centers for its delivery drones to take off and land. The patent was published in the US and shows how Amazon envisions its drones working. To get an idea how drone delivery can take place check it out this video!
The shown below towers ("beehives") could also support truck deliveries and a self-service area for customers to pick up items directly. The patent also contains details how employees would attach the packages on drones.
The first successful drone delivery was made in the UK (December 2016). The plan is to expand the service to hundreds of customers near the British facility in the future.
What do you think about Amazon's new plans?
i remember the first delivery and yes it would make things even easier, though living on the coast, i might think the drones will get attacked by seagull when they include food deliveries ;)
