The US Department of Defense announced a tender for the development of new unmanned aerial vehicles, in the design of which the principles of the flight of certain animals must be borrowed.

According to the source, at present the Pentagon accepts applications from those who wish to participate in the tender, the winner of which will receive an order for the creation of an innovative drone.

It is noted that the new apparatus should use the principles of flying animals, for example, a bat. The fact is that available military drones with rotating screws create a lot of noise, which prevents them from remaining unnoticed.

The Pentagon expects that drones having wings will allow a covert surveillance of the enemy. In addition, the department believes that such drones will be more maneuverable.
