The drink Pepsi was main presented as "Brad's Drink" in New Bern, North Carolina, United States, in 1893 by Caleb Bradham, who complete it at his pharmacy where the drink was traded. It was retitled Pepsi-Cola in 1898 later the root of the word "dyspepsia" and the kola nuts used in the recipe. The original recipe also involved sugar and vanilla. Bradham sought to produce a fountain drink that was attractive and would aid in digestion and boost energy.

Rise


For the period of the Great Depression, Pepsi grows in popularity following the introduction in 1936 of a 12-ounce bottle. By a radio promotion campaign featuring the jingle "Pepsi-Cola successes the spot / Twelve full ounces, that's a lot / Twice as much for a nickel, too / Pepsi-Cola is the drink for you", settled in such a way that the jingle not ever ends. Pepsi encouraged price-watching consumers to switch, obliquely referring to the Coca-Cola normal of 6.5 ounces per bottle for the price of five a nickel, instead of the 12 ounces Pepsi sold at the equal price.
