Dresser Makeover

This dresser was given an updated look with a little bit of paint and a little bit of time. The whole project was done in less than 2 hours.

The first thing I did was remove all the hardware and scuff up the wood with sand paper.

Then clean it with a damp rag to get all the dust off.

Next I put 2 coats of white chalk paint on.

When the paint was dry, I used the rough side of a damp sponge and rubbed some of the paint off. This is called wet distressing. It's a lot less messy than using sand paper to rub some of the paint off but the end result is the same.

Before I put the hardware back on, I dry brushed them with the white chalk paint.

The final step is to apply a coat of wax to protect the paint and give it a nice lustre.
