Drawitbetter contest: @dyinkfinity's cherry blossoms 🌸

Hey guys! Guess who's back with her art joining Sensei's #Drawitbetter contest? It's your local artsy nerd! Yay! I am so glad to go back to my art and have it published in steemit contests. You see my creative mind doesn't work when it comes to deciding on a topic to write here. The very reason I am grateful for such an opportunity as @sirsensei's art contest.

Without hesitation, the moment I found out the theme for this week my eyes began to sparkle and the excitement really runs through my veins. I love painting Florals not just because it's girly but because I find joy in seeing and painting it. And although I am not the good (yet) I make sure to enjoy every step and journey.

Back to the contest, I was planning to paint a bouquet of loose florals but ended up painting cherry blossoms instead. I love Cherry blossoms so bad, but sometimes I get frustrated because I haven't fully learned how to do it. I once remember observing an artist painting cherry blossoms, but it was a year ago and I stopped studying it so basically I forgot the tips and all. But still, I wanted to give it a shot tonight.

Presenting @dyinkfinity's version of cherry blossoms. I've been always fascinated by Sakura or cherry blossoms. Aside from my dream country is Japan, cherry blossoms also give me Joy and peace. It's been a while since the last time I painted Cherry blossoms. So allow me to share the process how did I come up with this output.

First thing I did was to paint the whole paper with mild color blue that represents the skies. Then I painted the branches on sides.

It's up to you how dark the hue of branches. As for me, I added some black below to add some shadow effect. Next, I did was the petals of cherry blossoms by starting on light pink and later on overlay it with the darker hue of pink.

After that I put some pink watercolor and tapped the paper while wet to leave pinkish background that serves as shadows of falling cherry blossoms.

Then I added some greeny leaves, I know but as I mentioned earlier, thia is my version of cherry blossoms.

Just let the paint went dry and there you have it. Your cherry blossom is done. Here's a closer look on the watercolor.
