RE: A commitment to (discovering) myself.
The problem with the dreams of a child, is that they are dreams of a child.
There isn't anything real about them for an adult.
However, the seeds of what you truly desire are usually therein to find.
Looking from the outside, your child dreams are to be popular and liked for your "achievements". And, if that is the heart of it, then along that path lays only tragedy. You can't get there from here.
If you want to be a popular comedian, you can't do it. If you want to make people laugh and enjoy themselves, you can become a comedian... one who may become popular.
However, if what your child dream was to explore, and see knew things... well then, all of those paths are just stories your teachers told you. And the stories are false. But, going and exploring new things is often easy, you just have to expand your boundaries.
I hope you will continue with your drawings if you enjoy drawings.
And share with us what you find valuable in remembering your child dreams.
