The estimated annual revenue of the adult industry in the United States is approximately $15 billion.
That amount of capitol flowing through the industry is incredible. That amount of money is greater the revenue of many major blue-chip companies including Netflix.
What does that tell us about the future of porn? It's here to stay, and it is an economic force. Augmented reality porn is coming of age while companies invest billions into the underlying technology.
What would the economy of the internet be without porn? It once made up 50% of the revenue of service providers, and that revenue helped build up the physical infrastructure that made today's internet.
