The U.S. is fairly large place, with a lot to explore on its own. Plus, it can be expensive to get to places abroad. Places like Europe have countries that are in line with the size of our states, and because of the European Union, it's relatively easy to travel within the union. In the case of Americans, there's a need for a passport, maybe a visa, etc.

I've been to Canada once and Mexico several times. I live in Oregon, but I've also traveled to Washington, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, California, Arizona, Nevada and Utah by car, and Hawaii, Texas, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington, DC by air.
