I'm afraid none of these have been on my list to visit in a few years, but I chose the Maldives because they are islands and they look like they would be a very nice place to experience.

I get a little concerned with areas where I've heard aren't either that safe for tourists, Americans specifically, or where the rights of the citizens are curtailed. A lot of these countries you've mentioned seem to fall in that category. I'm sure there's a difference for natives and those who live nearby to some degree. I just feel like I'd need to be on guard the whole time. :)
