What do you think is the ideal weekly working hours?

Work. Can't live with it and can't live without it. For some it's a pleasure and an accomplished passion, while for others is just a way of spending, in average, eight hours a day, five days a week, paycheck to paycheck.

Every country though has its average weekly working hours by law and they can differ to up to 10 hours per week from one to another. In my country we have 40 hours while in The Netherlands, from what I know, it's about 30 hours per week.

Nobody asked us though when making such laws and I am sure many of us would consider way less as "the ideal" weekly working hours. I am curious what do you think. I, for example, am into the 20 hours a week ideal. That's how much I consider it would be enough for all of us to have enough.

Thanks for taking the poll and have a great day!

Answer the question at dpoll.xyz.

Sort:

50 hours each week for 10 weeks and then 3 weeks of vacation

Seems a good option also, but I've had my share of 50 hours a week and I tend to believe that 20 might be the best for me. I haven't had three weeks vacation afterwards though. I had it after ten months.

I chose this one, because it's what I've done in the past in the early days of owning a business, and what I've been doing lately on STEEM, but in reality, the hours worked isn't what I'm looking at, it's what do I need to live a financially carefree life.

If that means working more than 40 hours a week, okay. If it means working less than 20 hours, which I have also done, then even better. But for me, the emphasis isn't in the hours, or even in a minimum pay, but more about what I can to with the time that is mine. Unfortunately, most of this world still revolves around money, so while there are definitely ways to get around that, not everyone is going to be able to just walk out the door penniless and do all they ever could want to do.

So, somewhere between what I need to do and want to do is where I really should be, and sometimes that means working shorter hours, and sometimes that means longer.

I currently work 84+ hours per week, for four weeks straight, followed by two weeks off.

I've been working similar rotations (sometimes more, sometimes less), for the past 20 years.

That's a lot. Now I get why you order food that often :)

It is a lot.

But the 8 two week 'vacations' a year facilitates all my travel. There are trade offs no matter which way you choose.
