Holds the hand raised for 40 years, though

Amar Bharati from India holds the right hand raised for over forty years.
He abandoned the life of this world, comfortable and everyday, to devote himself to the Hindu God, Shiva.

The muscles in his hand were completely atrophied and his nails were large and twisted.

However, his work became a symbol of true religion, so other Hindu monks look at it.

Bharati states that the position of his hands is a constant greeting and that he has done it for the sake of peace in the world.

He points out that an elevated arm means a protest against violence.

Shiva is one of the three main gods in India, along with Brama and Vishna.
