So, quick recap: seller of 7 acre lot backs out and doubles price. I decline, lawyers are slow with repayment, people tell me it might be a scam, I tell my lawyer I think its a scam, my lawyer gets concerned for his reputation and gets my money within a few days, I make friends with the guy I'm renting from he's gonna sell me a small something by something next door, the eco farm/guest house is out the window, in steps recycling business, mainly plastic but also glass, metal and electronics on a small scale. I'm getting the lot for 3100 usd and that will hopefully leave me enough to get started with some recycling machines like the ones from precious plastics.
I think we would benifit as a whole if everyone learned a bit about the carbon atom. It's vital for life on earth as we know it. When we eat it we might call it sugar, carbs or starch. If we get to much we might store it in our bodies. The liver holds a lot. There's also a lot of it throughout the body where it travels in a space shuttle called ATP. This space shuttle is a complex molecule that also include oxygen, hydrogen and some other stuff (C10H16N5O13P3) it's full name is adenosine triphosphate. When ATP breaks down it releases energy, for instance allowing our muscles to work and our nerves to send it's signals. The general process of converting glucose to carbondioxide is called cellular breathing. The blood stream brings the co2 rich blood to the alveoli in the lungs where it's replaced with oxygen rich air, as we breathe out the co2. This co2 is then used by plants in their photosynthesis. The plants will grab the c and release the o:s, thus giving us increased amount of oxygen in the air. Sometimes this very same plant might take the c to create sugar cane, fruits or grains to put in our bodies again. Most life on earth rely on the circulation of carbon. That's part of the reason I think a reasonable amount of carbs in your diet is not a bad thing, unless you need to rapidly lose weight to fit into that wedding dress or whatever. Other useful appliances of the carbon atom include charcoal, diamonds and graphene. Charcoal is burned for energy (much like the carbs in our cell) and just as with our bodies the process releases co2. Diamonds are dug up by underpaid African mine workers and stored in London to keep the commodity scarce. By doing this they can push up the price and then convince engagees to invest in "a girls best friend". Graphene is a single layer atom carbon structure (meaning very flat) that is a very strong, conductive, water floating and versatile material. It might be used for smartphone screens but the screen replacement business is booming and that keeps people employed, so no need.
As a direct consequence of the industrial revolution, humanity has released vast amounts of carbon in the air, in the form of co2, by the burning of fossil fuel (oil, coal and natural gas). This becomes important partly because not only are we releasing these vast amounts of co2 in the air but at the same time we are crippling the lungs of the earth by deforestation. In the heating that follows due to increased greenhouse effect we are creating a positive feedback loop as the polar ice caps are shrinking and the snow will no longer reflect the sunlight back to space. Also underneath the ice we are discovering seepages of methane gas, which together with co2 makes up for 2 of the most impacting greenhouse gases. This is also happening on the Russian tundra. Now don't get me wrong. The greenhouse effect is needed to sustain life on earth. Its what keeps a lot of the warmth of the sun to just bounce back into space, without it it would be freezing. But the more greenhouse gases we have - the more heat we will trap. So this process is being induced by our human activity. What's worse is that ExxonMobile (who's interest is mainly profit from oil extraction) pays various lobbying organisations to spread the word that this is all false and we do not need to change anything. They have been extremely successful, using the same methods (and players) as the tobacco industry in its lobbying efforts. Its not uncommon to find a scientist debating against a representative from the Heartland institute on national TV in the US. So you basically have a rhetoricer and showman debating a "boring scientist" on national tv. It's not difficult to understand that people who have done little research into where these agendas are coming from might fall for the reasonably sounding funny guy. Now I sometimes get asked why I put so much attention on the US but its clear to me that a lot of the destructive forces the world is experiencing today comes from said nations national and foreign policies.
I needed to get that off my chest. At least I said something (will keep saying something to anyone denying these simple facts until the end of (my) time).
So election year in Sweden again. Not sure if more people are waking up to the ludicrous organisation of our societal structure or if this year is just more of a circus than usual.
None of the politicians in charge in Sweden have any idea on how to face the future of our country or the world in a sustainable, humane way. The ones that have a small clue are swiftly silenced by the mob of ignorants from across the board.
I've said this for a long time now and I stand by my words: we need a revolution. Now. Call it a revolt, a reform, a cycle whatever you want. Things need to change. Big. First step is to stop participating in a corrupt system that wishes nothing more than to skim off the hard earned profits from our labour - in order to sustain their well payed parasitical political class.
Participation equals legitimising the corrupt system. Your first move should be to not vote. That is how I (for the first time this year) chose to show my discontent. I do not put my vote on a bullshit party with more or less crappy ideas, the majority of which they will not follow through on during the coming 4 years (either they lack enough power or will) only to see it happen again. You've fooled me twice already. I'm not falling for it again.
Viva la revolución
