DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

This is one issue I can't stand, my body temperature rises at the sight, thought or a person narrating her experience about it. This is directed to the women community.
To address it properly I'll like to start with "relationships" after all that is what leads to marriage. Like my Pastor Ezekiel Atang calls it "RELATIONSHIP RED FLAGS".
He mustn't beat you while you're together, but has he destroyed things, properties out of anger, beaten and wounded another person in your presence or you heard about it, has he scolded you with words like "Be careful before I beat you" , dragged you or your clothes? Assaulted you by raising his fingers but not necessarily laying it down on your body? Or even beaten you once and promised with gifts that it will never happen again, Dear women, those are signs you should pay attention to. In marriage, it only gets worse.

So I read a comment made by one misogynist on a platform. He was advising women to stay and suffer in a violent marriage because if a woman divorces her husband she would have to return to her father's house or live on her own while the man can go ahead and remarry.
That is a very dumb and myopic idea, who says a woman cannot get an accommodation and live comfortably on her own? Who says she can't be happy? Who says she can't get to her peak in life without a husband?
Do you know that marriage can make or mar a person's growth in life? I really cannot understand how these people come up with such ridiculous ideas that a divorced woman cannot achieve anything on her own. A home is supposed to be a sanctuary, a place of peace and tranquillity but when that home suddenly becomes a war front,a place of tension, where a woman cannot air her views or her grievances without the fear of being physically attacked by her supposed partner then that marriage is already dead on arrival.
In such situations I am a strong advocate of separation and even divorce. I am no feminist whatsoever, I just can't deal with this aspect where women think it's okay to remain in a violent marriage and get themselves killed destroying their destiny and purpose which God created them for....Please we all deserve better.
