I’m from South Africa and I can vouch for the fact that we do have the internet and books! Though our internet is provided via a monopoly government parastatal so we pay well over market value for access! That’s the socialist democracy way right?

As for the hyper inflation story Ive yet to hear anything on that from our local media (mind you most of it is also government owned) so if you could provide me with sources that would be great

As for Zimbabwe it’s such a shame it’s a beautiful country and the people are amazing and really didn’t deserve what happened there! It’s really sad how they have to live for example regardless of your salary the banks only allow you to withdraw 50 US dollars a day how do you get anything done with those kinds of limitations?

As for our government we’re always teetering on the brink of disaster so South Africans have become well resistant to it and rather resilient, regarless of all the corruption and missmangament we’re soldiering in somehow!

My dream would be for us to adopt a capitalist system and constitutional republic! Having a democracy means mob rule and I feel the majorities agendas are still motivated by apartheid resolve which I think we sorted out long ago and there’s no need to fall back in that argument any longer
