My sleeping dog.....a poem

I hear your snoring next to my head,
My baby dog, you hog the bed.
I feel your breath on my face,
A feeling of love , I can't replace .
The feel of your paw on my arm,
A gentle push, you mean no harm.
The rise and fall of your little chest,
The love of my puppy is the best.
I let you sleep just a little more,
Even though my arm is sore.
Nothing can replace the love of a dog,
Even if you're a little bed hog.
I know you're dreaming , you're twitching your paws,
Chasing a rabbit or catching a ball?
Whimper and whine , you're winning the race,
Your cold nose next to my face.
You slowly wake to another day,
Once awake , you want to play .
The love of a dog is warm and true,
Irreplaceable friend , who knew?
