Today's Weed News for May 8th 2018 #POLICEDOGS
For today's weed news we go to the great state of Illinois.
In what appears to be a very desperate attempt to come up with reasons against cannabis legalization, Illinois police are now officially threatening to kill all of their current police dogs if weed were to become legal in their state!
That's right, the Illinois police want to kill 275 currently working canines because they would be virtually useless with their current training, and experts are saying that the dogs would be impossible to retrain. If not retrained, the dogs would continue to sniff out cannabis after legalization, and that "would subject innocent citizens or motorists who travel through Illinois to unlawful search and seizures."
Since these dogs are used to violent situations and most of them don't play well with others, police are saying that it is unlikely that they would make good pets.
"At this point, they're trained on five different odors. Once they're programmed with that, you can't just deprogram them" said Steve Petrilli of the Normal Police Department.
So I guess the only thing left to do is just murder them all.
To me this seems like pure propaganda intended to pull on our heart strings. Like the cops are trying to use the cuteness of dogs and the fact that people like dogs against people who consume cannabis. Such tactics are absolutely appalling and shameful.
They've purposefully created a situation where if you stand up for cannabis you basically open yourself up to being called the dog murderer.
Hopefully this is just an empty threat and perhaps we will see some animal rights activists get involved in this matter.
Shame on you Illinois Police Department for having the audacity to issue such a fucking dumb message. We can't let bullshit like this distract us from the big picture.

do you know where the WA and OR dogs ended up?
Retired and they were all placed in homes. Most of the handlers kept them.
