Meet Luna!
Hey everyone!
This is Luna.
I met Luna a while ago about a week after she was born, next to her brothers and sisters, and immediately fell in love. She has been my pet for over 10 years now. She was born in Florida, United States, but after a year of life, she was forced to move to Santiago, Chile. Forced by me, she didn't have a choice. As seen on this picture, she is very tired, but very happy :) and thats how I like my dogs; happy.
I like to think Luna is happy because she was trained through more "carrot" than "stick". As that metaphor goes, it seems as if I trained her with snacks. But no, I don't like that either, I want Luna to behave and do as I say because she wants to make ME happy, and not because of the snack reward afterward. Maybe it was a silly thing, but I'm no professional trainer.
I don't have a lot of time for my first post on Luna, sadly. I'll talk more about her, how she was trained, what she can do, and anything else you guys might want.
Let me know in the comments if you want to learn more about Luna! The best dog ever.
Seeing eye dogs pee and poo on command so that their owners can clean up after them. (The command is usually "Get busy!" and pups will pace back and forth until they do their business.) Male dogs are also trained to do their business without lifting their leg.
Luna doesn't pee or poo in the house or in the garden, she knows to wait until we take her out on the street. I was waiting for another post to talk about what I taught her and what I didn't. I guess that will be my next subject. Thanks!
