Meet With Famous Albino Gorilla (SnowFlake)
He's refered to as the crowd please, this how the October 1970 issues of the GEOGRAPHIC described the world's first know albino gorilla. He was spotted clinging to his mother in 1966, the blue-eyed baby was observed by a farmer in Equatorial Guinea, which used to be Spanish colony. After his transit to Zoo in Barcelona, he rose to level of international celebrity. Despite his albinism, which could reduce his life span, he lived for about 40 years, this is average life expectancy of male gorilla in captivity. In 2003, he gave lost the battle to skin cancer. Snowflake is survived by 13 descendants, none of them is an albino, but it was reported that some of them carries albinism in their genes.
