Shinjuku Boys is a film from 1995 by Kim Longinotto and Jano Williams. It follows the lives of 3 transgender boys working at the New Marilyn Club in Tokyo. The boys are onnabes and work at the club as hosts, entertaining young women.
The documentary offers frank and honest discussions about their ideas on femininity and masculinity. Their experiences of romantic relationships and with their families.
While heartbreaking at times, their strength of character shines through.
