Handstand training and acro!- Workout of the Day
I've been hearing about DLive so I'm excited to start posting here now!
Handstand is one hard pose to nail. It takes a lot of patience and work, you pretty much use every muscle in your body. I started bunny hopping, that sounds (and looks) a bit silly, but starts laying a foundation for stronger arms.
I am now at the point where I can kick up to a handstand with a wall or a spotter.
When I play acro with @acromott and @threebagsfull, they help me up by supporting me on a shoulderstand first. from there, together we get me on handstand mode and soaring I go!!!! I held this for a couple seconds yesterday and I was pretty stoked.
BEGINNER HANDSTAND DRILLS:
Oh so you decided to join me on the movement journey??? Awesome!
Here's how you can start
Find a wall, and assume a table top position with your feet facing the wall
Walk your feet up the wal to wherever is sustainable, aiming to stack your shoulders as close over your wrists as possible and then your hips over your shoulders. Your feet are touching the wall and holding a lot of your weight.
Lift one leg at a time, Do 10 reps.
With more practice, start shifting more weight onto your arms and maybe only the tips of your toes touching the wall.
Keep moving!!
My video is at DLive
Brilliant must take so effort that. I still looking for my acro yoga place but am getting fitter in preparation 💯🐒
