Blog: Why Paragon
I started playing Paragon in April of 2017. What brought me in was hearing about the item shop. Instead of every item being available for sale, players build their item shops as if they are building decks like in a standard TCG. As awesome as that mechanic is, what kept me playing Paragon was the community. The Twitch streaming community for Paragon was very strong and closely knit. It created its own successful competitive scene. Paragon got me excited about the game, live streaming, and esports all at the same time!
Although I think this game is great, Paragon has gone through many monumental changes that have its community divided. The game is currently in a tough spot. Paragon's development has been slowed down due to some of its dev team being moved to work on Fortnite. Sadly this has dealt a big blow to the community that I had come to know and love and leaving many to speculate on the fate of the game.
I'm optimistic though. I knew what I was getting myself into when playing an ambitious game in development. I'm using my time playing this game as a tool for personal growth, and to enhance my blogging and streaming skills. Whether or not the game ends up being a hit, I'll be successful merely because I tried.
I think the game will pull through, and I'm very glad to be sharing a groundbreaking game on a groundbreaking platform such as Dlive.
One of the great things about using Dlive as a platform is that it posts onto steemit! I'll be sharing when I go live, I'll be sure to post some of my Paragon philosophy or tips/tricks. Be sure to follow me on Twitter to receive advance notice on my streams! As always, Have a good one, friends!
My live stream is at [DLive](https://www.dlive.io/#/livestream/thisbejake/18c3f870-0247-11e8-a537-513ce1a5abf9)
Well, dang. Just my luck. The day after I post this blog Epic breaks the news that they are closing Paragon in April. I guess that means I'll be looking for another competitive game with a strong grassroots community. This really bums me out though.
