Promoting Steem on Facebook, Google, and YouTube After the Ad Ban!

How do we help more of us discover Steem after Google and Facebook now have banned ads for cryptocurrencies? The solution I have for this is a live music station intended to help the viewer feel amazing and keep coming back because of the very personal feel. On YouTube today, most live music stations are impersonal, make no use of the video, provide no rewards for listeners, and do little more than collect ad revenue from no copyright music. We can do better than that.

Today I am continuing my work on building the best live music station on DLive, YouTube, Twitch, Mixer, Facebook, and Smashcast. Everything is in position today and literally all I need to do is keep making the music and setting it up. I hope to have the station live within a month streaming 24/7.

How will the live music station promote Steem? Inside my Ableton Live 10 project each day I will add in secret codes that listeners can use to make a post that adds value to Steem with a minimum of 1,000 words which passes copyright screening and contains a narrative worth sharing. A link will consistently come up explaining how it works with a button to sign up for Steem, a requirement to make genuine comments on posts by others first, and explain how to add the secret tag immediately upon hearing it to a post already written in exchange for an upvote worth around $20 SBD with about 5 of these available a day. We tested this basic format in the supernatural writing contest at https://steemit.com/steem/@jerrybanfield/mr7z0qvr which helped authors earn tens of thousands of dollars in rewards in exchange for adding hundreds of stories that will bring readers to the Steem blockchain indefinitely for free.

In addition to the contest, the live music station will have links to the apps I use on Steem such as @dlive, @dsound, and @busy.org directly to help users discover Steem through as many methods as possible.

With the existing live music stations often having 500 viewers online around the clock, I intend to make a music station that will help users feel so good that thousands of viewers will be watching in time all day every day. The other stations have nearly no viewer loyalty with the opportunity for one that does just begging to come along and centralize the viewers into one amazing community.

Collaborating on promoting this station to begin with will provide the foundation of viewers watching all day every day which when combined with my existing audience will provide a way to promote Steem indefinitely without sending any money off of Steem to pay for ads.

Thus, today as with many days before and after, I am live streaming my service, work, and joy in building this music station live with you. Thank you for reading with me today and I will see you on the live stream!

Love,
Jerry Banfield

I’ve always been a fan Jerry. People are surprised by that because I’m a pseudonymous blowhard with little substance behind anything I do or say, while you seem like a genuine guy who puts himself out there everyday, heart-and-soul on sleeve, and speaks from a place of kindness where sarcasm is superfluous and stale.

People naturally assume, I think, that you would make my list of people who are distasteful.

But for whatever reason, and I’m fairly certain it’s a sense of jealousy if your ability to be genuine without experiencing the kind of emotional discomfort that’s always a package deal for me, I like you.

So don’t take this as anything but constructive criticism when I tell you that every once in a while (like, here, for example) you’ve GOTTA drop the first-person plural.

It’s comedy gold but I’m pretty sure it’s unintentional.

Because I can’t picture anyway in which “we” can help “more of us” discover Steemit.

We all know what you mean, but enlarging the conceptual “we” from “Steemit users” to encompass our membership in “humanity in general” within the span of, like, 4 four words starts to sound like a bad Ayn Rand novel.

And you’re better than Ayn Rand.

So much better.

u may not know this.... but itchy and i have been having this argument debate about Jerry for the longest time especially when we discuss who we should be voting for as witness, something in me really like him (not the consistently promoting, idea evolving, steemit pushing him....which is all good...but something deeper, the human him that's evolving and becoming something much more....a deeper caring leader that i'm not sure he can sincerely see himself transforming into without any self-justification or pep-talk....but it's happening), and itchy says but he's just looks seedy with this tone, his marketing and all that....which i don't entirely disagree, cause that's what he knows and there is where he came from in the self-promotion copyrighting, product up-selling, facebroke, youtube world (before Steem)....but i see Jerry transforming since he's been here on Steemit, i just could not find the words to show others that there must be a way to help him do better, present himself better, until i saw this reply

kudos and thanks yodi....i do appreciate you reaching out, your words speaks too on behalf of one senior backwards counting mua....thanki for helping Jerry be jubilantly judiciously jamming .... w/o bad juju, good catch...hence kudos

While I like your idea with a music station, I feel that if we want to reach new people, we have to reach out to people as individuals.

We can still reach people on other social media platforms, we just have to personalize and take some time to do it properly.

Like FB Groups: We all have those facebook groups we joined x-years ago, and still post in, maybe reach out to people in them.

Or Linkedin: I don't know about you guys, but I personally have about 5k connects with a large majority being people who never heard of Steemit, I'm sure I could get a few to join this platform.

correct initiative

@jerrybanfield I am not sure whether you have covered this in your previous posts or not but it is more important for newbies to stay with the platform for long than merely joining it and leaving it after sometime. People join steemit as they believe that their content will be rewarded but that would only be possible when there is a better distribution of SP among the minnows and dolphins. I have recently seen a statistics which points out that the distribution is spreading from the whales to minnows and dolphins but still a lot of work needs to be done. Whales still control more than 65% of the SP and I believe if it gets down to 50%, it will be a lot better for Steemit on a whole. Also, people need to realize that they need to reward people that actively engages with their content, that will not only boost people's interest in their posts but will also help reward active audience. Lastly, I believe there should a way for a normal person to reward authors, not everyone who reads a particular post is on steemit and there should be a way in which they can also tip the authors if they like a particular post without them being part of the Steemit community.

"How do we help more of us discover"
-> the possibility to buy Steem Power?

A lot of new users don't even know this is possible!

No need to all this promote..we are the best..by time facebook and google will need our platform to promote their ads..

You're right! :)

Now that the price is down will it still catch the interest of the masses?

Hey @empato365 and @ jerrybanfield: Why shouldn't it be possible to catch the interest of the masses? I think, we (steemians) believe in the cryptocurrency and that the price will rise again. All we need is our trust in the cryptocurrency and our strength to make more people believe in it. I have just started to accept steem as payment method for my professional services. Two weeks ago I posted the hint on my homepage. If more people accept cryptocurrencies, including steem. confidence and trust will rise and the price of the cryptocurrencies will also rise again. However, since bitoin have dramatically fallen in their price building up confidence is not as easy as it was last year when prices only knew one direction. but I think it's possible. Compare to the stock markets. In the past, after several collapses of prices, the markets have risen again.

Wow. You've made a good point and it is quite interesting.

So now what's the plan. How are we gonna make cryptocurrencies attain global adoption?

Dear readers, bet you can't start your own radio station like Jerry online. Yeah? Did that motivate you? Maybe that seems like too much work for some people. Ok, how about this, bet you can't start a blog or a monthly video show, yeah? Bet you can't share and resteem Jerry if you like Jerry, yeah? We all know that we all play a part in revolutions in making the world better. If you know that, you might be one of the few. Go and do your best to spread the love. If you already get what I'm saying, then feel lucky because a lot of people don't. You have an opportunity to lead others towards these new spaces. Be a leader and act now before it is too late hehe and I'm Oatmeal.
