Atomium, the symbol of Brussels were built for Brussels World's Fair, in 1958 it is the most popular touristic attraction and the symbol of the Europe’s capital, total high 102m and each diameter of the spheres 18m and the diameter of the tubes 3m 30.

The tubes length 23m to 26m and the diameter of the pavillion at its base 26m. The total mass in the 1958 was 2.400.000kg and after renovation in 2006, 2.500.000kg. It comprises nine steel spheres connected so that the whole forms the shape of a unit cell of an iron crystal magnified 165 billion times.

At the occasion of its 60th birthday, the Atomium will celebrate Expo 58- this magical and glomorous event for which it was created with 3 exhibitions that are grouped under the title Galaxy 58. These exhibition will take place in the Atomium and in the ADAM, Brussels Design Museum [at 150m from the Atomium] and will be accessible between March 23rd and December 31st 2018.

Through many document, videos, photos, objects and costumes mostly unpublished: te extension of the permanent exhibition of the Atomium is more particularly devoted to people who have made Expo 58 and the past experiences.

What's inside the Aotmium?

Aotmium has 8 levels, you start by taking the left up top floor, where you can watch the most striking view over Brussels from the high of 95m [LEVEL8]. The views are fantastic and also You can enjoy your cup of coffee in the PANARAMIC RESTAURANT fom the high of 95m.

I found the most impressive levels 3/4/5 the temporary exhibition which explainall about EXPO PEOPLE FROM 1958 the historic of the place and how the ATOMIUM was designed. The most interesting floor for me is René Magritte and the surrealism.Two Belgian icons meet!
You can enjoy face to face with his paintings, Some of his works be presented in 3D in actual size.
