Deaaaar Steemians, I invite us today to undertake a collective odissey towards the discovering of that “culture-world” called “the French”, and more particularly its idiom.

I’ve been teaching French for 11 years now, and I feel very excited to share this experience through a distributed social network, instead of through a centralized spying platform.

My focus in this journey will be to avoid us from swallowing pages packed with phonetic and grammar notions, or to smash you with exercises cascades to work out on an individual basis. In short: Let’s stop with the traditional scholar system traumas!, haha.

That’s why I suggest we, literally, build together our learning path:

Previous to each group dLive session I’ll ask you to follow these easy 4 steps:

a) to find on the Internet some “raw material” for the lesson (a video, an audio track, a drawing,…);

b) to upload it as a comment below each lesson’s introductory article;

c) to upvote the shared items that you consider to be the most instructive, entertaining or accessible, among all the raw material the other Steemian participants will have brought; The number of documents you may upvote is unlimited;

d) in the course of the dLive sesión, we’ll base our learning interaction on the items that the most upvotes will have harvested.

This 4 steps procedure has driven me to name (in French) “concours" (con-cours) the journey we’re to begin, i.e. a “contest”, because it displays at the same time a course (we will learn) and a contest (we will upvote and curate the best suited content with pedagogical aims).

## Sesión 1: ¿Por qué deseo hablar francés?

Queriiid@s Steemian@s, les invito hoy a iniciar un viaje colectivo hacia el descubrimiento de esa cultura-mundo llamada “el francés”, y en particular su idioma.

Hace 11 años que enseño francés, pero ésta será mi primera experiencia grupal en línea.

Mi afán en esta odisea será evitar que leamos páginas llenas de nociones fonéticas y gramaticales, o imponerles cascadas de ejercicios que realizar en solitario. En corto: ¡ya basta con los traumas del sistema escolar tradicional!, jeje.

Por eso sugiero que co-construyamos nuestro recorrido de aprendizaje.

## Previamente a cada sesión grupal les pediré seguir estos 4 pasitos:

a) encontrar en Internet algo de “materia prima” para la clase (un vídeo, un audio, un dibujo,…);

b) subirlo en comentario del artículo anunciador de la sesión;

c) votar a favor de los documentos que les parecen ser los más instructivos / entretenidos / accesibles (dependiendo de lo que les llamó la atención), entre toda la materia prima propuesta por l@s Steemian@s. El número de documentos para los cuales pueden votar es ilimitado;

d) durante la sesión en vivo, utilizaremos los documentos que más votos habrán colectado.

Este procedimiento me llevó a bautizar “con-curso” el itinerario que estamos por emprender, ya que se trata a la vez de un curso (aprenderemos) y de un concurso (votamos y curamos el mejor contenido para fines pedagógicos). En inglés, osaría acuñar (si aún no ha sido hecho, jeje) el término: “L-EARNing”: al mismo tiempo aprender (“to learn”) y ganar algo (“to earn”), en este caso los votos de l@s demás participantes.
