Since there is no crowdfunding platform yet on steem, developers and entrepreneur of teams like @dlive and myself are trying to raise fund from campaigns and marketing. While this might be a scam if the product is not delivered, it is still better than initial coin offerings.
Thanks to @steemit @ned we will soon be able to raise fund via trusted icos on steem with SMTs or Smart Media Tokens.
Really excited and having fun building apps for steem. and yeah, its easy af if you have got little logical aptitude.
I would hardly call a failed product a scam, if they show their intent with a post and it generates interest, the intent is what was worth the reward, the product will generate its own worth once launched, seperate from the intent to do so.
For instance this post could be useful even if the project never gets made.
'scam' 'ponzi' and 'pyramid' are words that are used waaaay too loosely these days
