Muslims in fear as police crack down in India's heartland
Denizens in Meerut and Nehtaur verbally express the deaths were followed by a police crackdown, deepening fear among Muslims.
“I find myself on the street, consistently visually examining the concrete path where my son bled to death,” he verbalized quietly, leaning against the exposed brick walls of his house in Nehtaur, a minute north Indian town about 190 kilometers (120 miles) from Incipient Delhi.
Activists who visited the state on fact-finding mission days postmortem inculpated police of a “reign of terror” and “brazenly targeting” Muslims.
