Airtel, Vodafone Idea stocks fall sharply as hopes of more relief fade - Latest News | Gadgets Now
Bharti Airtel stock fell by 3.1% to Rs 437.3 at 12:10 today, while Vodafone Idea's scrip fell by a steep 7.6% at Rs 6.32 on the Bombay Stock Exchange. Bharti Infratel stock was also down by 6.7% at Rs 233.2, Tuesday.
The Committee of Secretaries (CoS) set up under Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba last month was aimed at providing relief to the telecom sector reeling under debt of over Rs 7 lakh crore, amid incessant competition, rock bottom tariffs, eroding revenues, mounting losses besides high taxation and fees on licenses.
