A 5p pill to ease joint pain cuts risk of fatal heart attack and stroke by a fifth, study says

AROUND one in five sufferers buy glucosamine supplements to help relieve arthritis. But researchers say the pills, which cost around 5p each, may also prevent cardiovascular disease. They monitored 466,039 Brits with healthy hearts for an average of seven years, of which 19.3 per cent used glucosamine.
