You can ride the first Philippine-made hybrid electric train for free this week – MB Life

The new hybrid electric train is here!
Developed by the Metals Industry Research and Development Center (MIRDC), the HET is a proudly Filipino-made vehicle, mainly powered by hybrid diesel fuel and electric-powered battery. It is designed to be energy-efficient, which means it doesn’t need electricity and suspended cables to operate. It has a total of 5 coaches that are 12 meters in length and can accommodate 880 passengers with the speed of 50km/h.
