Reggie Jackson: Steve Cohen only wanted to own the Mets

Reggie Jackson is a Yankee legend.  He believes Steve Cohen will take the Mets to a completely different level.  In New York, you "have to write big checks".

The Mets have not been able to do that under the Wilpons.  They got involved in the Bernie Madoff situation which cost the team its financial flexibility.  They were lucky to hold onto the team.  

Cohen is a minority owner since 2012 is in negotiations to increase his stake to buy the majority of the team.  He is an avid baseball fan and worth a lot of money.  The Mets really need an owner like him.
