Gas leak suspected in explosion that rocked Plantation shopping center, injuring 23
When I first read this news, I remembered the pedestrian sky bridge that collapsed in Florida.

I imagined things are old and run down in the State of Florida. The article claimed that investigators think it was a gas leak. You would think they have better safety precautions for public places. It seemed awfully irresponsible for not have maintenance personnel monitoring the place.
Then again, there may not be enough people to keep an eye on every facet of the shopping center. It does make you wonder about the upkeep of infrastructure within the state.
Could it have been a malicious attack? Well, that has not been out of the question. Although, a part of me doubt this was intentional. Consider many shops were not open at the time, an attack seemed unlikely.
On the bright side, it would have been a lot worse if this happened during peak hours. Instead, a few dozen people got injured. It's something to think about.
