LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) -- In an effort to turn things around for the company, Family Dollar just announced plans to sell alcohol according to USA Today. Virginia-based Dollar Tree - bought Family Dollar stores in 2015 but store sales only rose under a half percent since then. The company announced it will be adding alcoholic drinks to about one thousand Family Dollar stores by expanding freezers and coolers in-store. The retailer also plans to renovate at least one thousand stores.
